As a result of a live demonstration at Saltex 08, Ryetec were able to convince Countryside Manager Hamish White and his colleagues at Elmbridge Borough Council that the Ryetec Avant 500 Multi-Position side arm flail mower was ideal for use in the confined spaces of their woodland and conservation areas on Esher Common, to keep overgrown scrub and grass at bay on rides and access routes. The Avant has a unique variable reach arm which moves the flail head forwards for improved visibility and also backwards allowing the flail head to operate behind the tractor in confined areas. The high power drive system (65hp) gives excellent performance even in heavy overgrown material.
Hamish and his team also looked at Ryetec’s heavy duty tractor driven chippers and the Contractor heavy duty flail collectors, quotes were sent straight after the show and an order was received for the Avant 500 side arm flail and a 831ZX tractor driven chipper, with a third order for a C2000CHS heavy duty flail collector following a few weeks later. All are now installed and operating successfully, giving Hamish and his team flexibility in their woodland management free from the restraints of hired machinery and contractors, meaning they can now do jobs as and when required.
