FETF 2025 Grants – Funding Available for Ryetec Equipment

Ryetec is pleased to announce that the upcoming Farming Equipment and Technology Fund (FETF) 2025 grants will soon be available, offering farmers, foresters, and agricultural contractors in England the opportunity to invest in innovative machinery and technology. Ryetec will have numerous machines which will be available on the grant, and we will find out more about each individual item on the schemes soon!

 

How FETF 2025 Supports Ryetec Customers

The FETF 2025 scheme is designed to help agricultural businesses improve productivity, sustainability, and animal welfare. Many of Ryetec’s advanced machines are expected to be eligible for grant funding, helping you make valuable investments with financial support from DEFRA.

 

Key Details:

- Application Opens: Spring 2025

- Grant Amounts: £1,000 - £25,000 per application

- Funding Areas: Productivity, slurry management, and animal health & welfare

- Eligible Items: Expected to include a wide range of equipment that enhances efficiency and environmental sustainability

Agriculture

FETF207 - Air drill for establishing cover crops

Expected average cost of item (£): 3,150
Percentage paid towards item: 50%
Grant amount (based on a quantity of 1) (£): 1,575
Score: 62

Item must:

  • be a pneumatic (air) drill
  • be designed to be mounted on existing drills or soil tillage equipment
  • have electronic metering
  • be able to drill small cover crop seeds - for example, clover, mustard, phacelia
  • use either pipes, coulters or spreader plates to place the seed
  • have a minimum 3m drilling width
  • have a seed hopper with a minimum 300L capacity
  • Item must be installed and operational at the time of submitting your claim.


You must provide this item’s serial number when you submit your claim for payment.


The zocon range of seeders are available through the FETF grant scheme 2025, with a very clever design allowing them to be easily moved between implements within a matter of minutes theres no wonder there becoming the contractors seeder of choice. Available with varying options and either ISOBUS,TOPCON or basic controllers.

FETF208 - Tractor mounted stubble rake 6m

Item must:

  • be a tractor mounted stubble rake
  • have a minimum 6m working width
  • only have rearwards facing straight tines without hooks or curves to lightly agitate the soil surface and spread crop residues evenly across the field
  • break up damp mats of straw


The Zocon greenkeeper 6 or 8M machine is available under the grants as a stubble rake, it has also been popular to be used in conjunction with the seeder unit to create a quick and easy one pass system for planting cover crops and overseeding SFI in. Again available with varying options to suit the task in hand.

FETF210 - Inter row companion drills 6m

Item must:

  • be an inter row companion drill
  • use either tines or discs to produce the seeding slot
  • have a drilling width of at least 5.9m
  • place the seed in the seeding slot
  • drill between the rows of an established growing crop
  • be able to vary widths between coulters
  • have minimum inter row spacing between coulters of 45cm
  • drill the full range of arable and cover crops including cereals, pulses, and oil seeds


The zocon greenseeder is another great machine offering quick and easy cash crop establishment between varying crops including maize and beet. Other uses include interrow weeding with the strong 10mm tine head. Available as a disc or tine machine.

FETF112 - Grassland sward lifters

Expected average cost of item (£): 4,500

Grant amount (based on a quantity of 1) (£): 1,800

Item must:

  • be a grassland sward lifter
  • have 3 minimum legs
  • have adjustable depth control to a minimum 300mm
  • have a cutting disc in front of each leg that cuts to a minimum 50mm depth
  • have a packing roller behind each leg
  • have a shear bolt or mechanical reset on each leg


The full range of Ryetec restorers fit under this grant with many of the arable machines actually been used quite regularly in grass. Available in widths of 3-8M with plenty of options to suit the task in hand.

Forestry

FETF17 - Timber cranes

Expected average cost of item (£): 14,200
Percentage paid towards item: 40%
Grant amount (based on a quantity of 1) (£): 5,680

Item must:

  • be a timber crane
  • be either cab mounted, mountable using 3-point linkage to a tractor, or fit on to a timber trailer
  • be designed for extracting timber from woodland
  • be fitted to existing tractors or forestry trailers
  • have a reach of at least 6m
  • have a lift capacity of at least 500kg at 6m reach excluding the weight of the grab and rotator
  • include the following three components; have a rotator, and grab and valve block


Both our trailers and cranes are available under the FETF scheme as both single items or combined. Available from 4-13T with cranes from 4.7-7.5M with varying options and controllers to suit the customer.

FETF18 - Forestry/timber trailers

Expected average cost of item (£): 8,563

Grant amount (based on a quantity of 1) (£): 3,425

Item must:

  • be a forestry/timber trailer
  • be designed for use in forests and woodland to extract felled timber
  • have no floor or sides
  • have a permanent headboard
  • have at least 6 permanent bolsters (3 pairs)
  • have low ground pressure tyres, floatation tyres or an automatic inflation and deflation system for tyres
  • have a timber carrying capacity of at least 2,000kg
  • use trailer hitch eyes to attach to a towing vehicle


Both our trailers and cranes are available under the FETF scheme as both single items or combined. Available from 4-13T with cranes from 4.7-7.5M with varying options and controllers to suit the customer.

FETF44 - Direct drill

Expected average cost of item (£): 30,135
Percentage paid towards item: 50%
Grant amount (based on a quantity of 1) (£): 15,067

Item must:

  • be a direct drill
  • use either tines or discs to produce the seeding slot
  • have a 2.9 metres (m) minimum drilling width
  • place the seed in the seeding slot
  • drill through an established growing cover crop of at least 15 centimetres (cm) - must be demonstrated on cover crops other than grass
  • have a seed hopper with a capacity of at least 1,000 litres (L)
  • have precision metering capable of drilling between one kilogram (kg) to 300kg of seed per hectare
  • drill the full range of arable and cover crops including cereals, pulses and oil seeds
