Area salesperson/demonstrator manager
The Area Demonstration/Salesperson will be responsible for driving new business across all sectors, managing
relationships with existing and new dealers, and supporting customers throughout their region. This hands-on
role involves managing the full sales process, from initial inquiry to machine demonstration, delivery, and
installation. The ideal candidate will have a practical background, some sales experience although this is
not as essential as an enthusiastic attitude and the ability to “get on” with people.
This is not a typical "suit and tie" job – you will be expected to know the machinery inside and out, handle
equipment, and get your hands dirty, and negotiate a deal! We are looking for someone who can load, drive,
demo, sell, and deliver our products with confidence.
We are interested in hearing from anyone who may think this role is for them, But we are particularly interested
in candidates based in or willing to cover Western England & Wales or Scotland. There is no fixed deadline
for this role – we are focused on finding the right long-term fit for our team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sales & Business Development: Proactively identify and develop new business opportunities within the southern region, promoting Ryetec’s range of ground care, agricultural, and forestry machinery to dealers and end users.
- Dealer Development: Maintain strong relationships with current dealers and assist in developing new dealer partnerships.
- Product Knowledge: Develop a deep understanding of Ryetec’s product range, staying updated on industry trends and competitor products.
- Demonstrations & Presentations: Arrange and conduct hands-on demonstrations of Ryetec’s machinery, showcasing product features and benefits to potential customers.
- End-to-End Sales Process: Manage all aspects of the sales process, from initial inquiry to demonstration, delivery, and installation.
- Travel: Regular travel throughout the southern region to visit clients, attend trade shows, and provide product demonstrations.
Requirements:
- Experience: Proven sales experience good, but not essential if you’re willing to learn, ideally in the agricultural, forestry, or machinery sectors would be preferred.
- Industry Knowledge: Strong & enthusiastic understanding of agricultural, groundcare or forestry machinery, with the ability to discuss and demonstrate the technical aspects of products confidently.
- Practical Skills: Hands-on ability to operate, load, demo, and install machinery.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to negotiate, present effectively, and maintain progress using CRM software.
- Self-Motivation: Highly motivated, results-driven, and capable of working independently across a large geographic region.
- Driving License: Full UK driving license is essential for regular travel throughout the southern area.
Desirable:
- Experience working with agricultural contractors, farmers, turf care or groundcare, forestry professionals, or dealers.
- Towing experience, HGV license or the enthusiasm to do the test
- Knowledge of Ryetec’s machinery or similar product lines.
- Familiarity with CRM systems and sales reporting tools or computer skills and the willingness to learn
