Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Buyer to join our procurement team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for purchasing goods and services for Ryetec while ensuring cost-effectiveness, quality, and timely delivery. The Buyer will collaborate with suppliers, internal teams, and vendors to maintain inventory levels and meet business needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Procurement: Manage the end-to-end purchasing process, including sourcing suppliers, negotiating contracts, and placing purchase orders for goods and services.
  • Receive Bills of Materials on fabrication assemblies.
  • Supplier Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, ensuring favourable pricing, quality standards, and timely deliveries.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels, track stock movement, and work with the team to forecast needs to prevent overstocking or shortages.
  • Cost Control: Evaluate cost-saving opportunities and ensure that all purchases align with budget guidelines and strategic sourcing goals.
  • Market Research: Stay informed about market trends, pricing changes, and supplier performance to make informed purchasing decisions.
  • Order Processing: Ensure accuracy and completeness in purchase orders, ensuring that orders are delivered on time and according to specifications.
  • Compliance: Ensure that all purchases comply with company policies, industry regulations, and legal requirements.
  • Reporting: Generate reports related to procurement activities, supplier performance, and inventory levels for management review.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Buyer or similar role within the machinery or manufacturing industry.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.
  • Solid knowledge of procurement processes and supplier management software.
  • Ability to manage budgets effectively and meet financial targets.
  • Familiarity with Forestry, Agricultural, or Amenities-related products is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in [specific software, e.g., Excel, ERP systems].
  • Professional certifications (e.g., CIPS, CPSM) are an advantage but not essential.
  • Experience with Sage 200 manufacturing is an advantage but again not essential as training will be provided.
