THIS COMPACT COLLECTOR MEANS BUSINESS! | EPISODE 1 OF RYETEC TALK

Filmed on site at one of the UK’s most recognised sporting venues, this episode offers a full walkthrough of the Ryetec Mini Flail Mower Collector M1600CH, showing how compact design and professional-grade performance combine for efficient grass and debris collection.

Chris begins by introducing the model delivered to Leeds Rhinos, which is fitted with a rear roller instead of standard castor wheels. The roller provides finer control and improved depth management, ideal for scarifying sports pitches where surface precision is critical. He explains how adjustment on the roller system differs from the standard wheel setup, using a threaded mechanism that allows infinite fine-tuning for accurate working depth and consistent ground contact.

As standard across the Mini Collector series, the rear roller includes a threaded height adjustment system. This feature ensures a precise and even finish on all surfaces, from fine turf to general amenity grounds. Operators can easily change the position of the adjustment bolt to alter cutting height and ground pressure, maintaining smooth, uniform results.

The high-tip collector system provides easy emptying and greater flexibility. Using two hydraulic services, operators can lift and tip the grass box at any point during the lifting cycle. This setup makes it simple to control how and where clippings are discharged, especially when working around obstacles or raised edges. The safety locks on the lift arms ensure the collector remains secure during servicing or maintenance.

Inside the grass box, the machine is fitted with Ryetec’s standard flail rotor but, for this particular demonstration, Chris swaps to the scarifier rotor for specialist turf renovation work. The scarifier blades come in two versions, 1.6 mm for fine turf and 3 mm for heavier applications, offering flexibility depending on the site requirements.

Maintenance on the M1600CH is designed to be straightforward. Although many components can be reached through the main chamber, the easiest access point for flail or blade changes is through the rear service door, secured by three 13 mm bolts. Once opened, operators can quickly reach inside to inspect or replace parts without the need for complex tools or disassembly.

Compact, efficient, and built for long service life, the Ryetec M1600CH Mini Flail Mower Collector reflects the company’s engineering focus on usability and precision. Its heavy-duty construction, thoughtful design, and easy maintenance make it ideal for contractors, councils, and estate managers who need dependable performance in everyday groundcare operations.
