At the heart of Ryetec is founder and managing director Mark Harrison, who started the company more than three decades ago with a single goal: to build equipment that lasts. What began as a one-man operation importing specialist machinery has grown into a thriving manufacturing business producing equipment for farms, councils, forestry professionals, and grounds maintenance teams across the UK.
Mark explains how Ryetec’s roots were built on strong relationships with family-run European suppliers, many of which continue to this day. “We’ve worked with some of these companies for over 30 years,” he says. “They’re not just suppliers, they’re friends. Those partnerships helped shape Ryetec’s values: trust, quality, and consistency.”
Over the last six years, Ryetec has expanded from importing into full-scale UK manufacturing with a growing product line that now includes:
The video introduces viewers to several members of the Ryetec team who bring this machinery to life. Marek, one of Ryetec’s experienced welders and fabricators, speaks about the hands-on pride that goes into every build. “I like the family atmosphere here,” he says. “You can see your work go from start to finish. Every weld, every panel, it’s all part of something built to last.”
Max Clough, part of the sales team, explains how the company’s reputation has grown from importing European machines to becoming a recognised British manufacturer. “The transition into manufacturing changed everything for us,” he says. “Now we’re known for our own agricultural products, especially our front Workboxes, built here in Yorkshire.”
Inside the office, Marion Frampton, who manages sales administration and production, highlights the company’s focus on service and customer satisfaction. “Customer care is one of our biggest priorities,” she says. “We make sure every product that leaves here is exactly what the customer ordered. We’re proud of the standard we maintain and the relationships we build along the way.”
Across the workshop, the sense of pride is clear. Every team member contributes to machines that are designed to last a lifetime, not a season. As Mark puts it, “Our goal isn’t to be the cheapest, it’s to be the best. The quality of what we make reflects the people behind it.”
With a reputation built on craftsmanship, personal service, and innovation, Ryetec continues to prove that British engineering is alive and thriving, producing agricultural, forestry, and groundcare equipment trusted by professionals nationwide.
